Look Great & More Youthful with Facial Rejuvenation

Facelift, Eyelid Surgery & Forehead Lift

Surgical Facial Rejuvenation - Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

If you don't look as young as you feel.

Facelift is a surgical procedure to improve the sagging skin, the wrinkles and creases of the face, and the jowls, and to remove the extra skin and fat in the face and neck and tighten your muscles (fascia) under the skin, giving you a more youthful, rested appearance.

A facelift is going to tighten your face, cheeks, and neck; it does NOT tighten your eyes or forehead.

Which type of Facelift do I need?

It depends on the quality of skin and how extensive the wrinkles and creases are, as well as your medical health. Dr. de Olarte will examine you and hear your concerns to help you decide what is best for you.

Types of Surgical Facelifts

1. Full Facelift

2. Mini or Short Scar Facelift

3. Neck Lift

Types of Surgeries that can be done at the same time as a Facelift

1. Brow Lift (also known as a Forehead Lift)

2. Eyelid Surgery (also known as Blepharoplasty)

All the above can be done at an outpatient surgery center or a hospital, usually as an outpatient procedure and can be done, depending on your health and preferences, with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, surgical facelift it is contraindicated for smokers.

1. Full Facelift will tighten your skin and muscles on the face and neck

You are a good candidate if you are 55 or older and you have excess skin in the cheeks and neck, that is moderate or severe; or if you have jowls or deep wrinkles and have vertical bands or lines in the neck or sun damaged skin with many wrinkles.

It gives you scars on the natural folds in front and behind the ear, and at the temple and lower scalp. Fat may be removed from the neck and the fascia muscles will be tightened and the extra skin removed.

2. Mini-Facelift or Short Scar Facelift with tighten your skin/muscles on the face.

You are a good candidate when you are younger (40-50 years of age) and your excess skin in the neck is mild and you have good quality skin. If you have wrinkles, or jowls on your face but your neck is not too bad. Excess skin in the face will be removed, and fascia/ muscles will be tightened in the face. But your neck will not be tightened.

It will give you shorter scars, mostly in front of the ear and a shorter one behind the ear.

How long will my facelift last?

It depends on your age, bone structure, heredity, the quality of your skin, the amount of sun damage and any history of smoking and your lifestyle. The younger you are and the less sun damages your skin is, the longer the facelift will last. Dr. de Olarte will evaluate you and recommend what will be the best for you, and what will give you better results. Smokers are not candidates for facelifts.

3. Neck Lift will tighten muscles in the neck and remove extra fat from under the chin area.

You are a good candidate if you have mild wrinkling or fat in the neck and your cheeks are good, or if you have vertical bands or lines in the neck but your face and cheeks or jowls are still good. It gives you a scar below your chin and a shorter in front and back of the lower ear. It will not tighten your neck as much as a facelift.

4. Brow Lift (also known as a Forehead Lift)

Brow Lift is the raising of the position of your eyebrows that begins to sag with age, and improving the wrinkles on your forehead and the wrinkles between your eyebrows (the frown lines). Read More About Brow Lift

5. Eyelid Surgery (also known as Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid Surgery or Blepharoplasty, is removing the extra skin of your eyelids and the “bags” but does not change your eyebrow position nor does it improve your forehead lines. Read More About Eyelid Surgery

Non-surgical Facial Rejuvenation

1. "Liquid Facelift"

It is not surgery but injections to improve the wrinkles and to restore the volume to the face that you have lost with aging or weight loss. These procedures are done at the office by Dr. de Olarte, personally, she will explain which injections will be better for you during the consultation. And you will need a combination of fillers and Botox or Dysport. Some fillers are to fill the wrinkle per se, and other fillers are to give you more volume since we lose the fat from our faces as we get older. Botox or Dysport is used to weaken the muscles so you will have less wrinkles and is more for the upper face such as the lines between the eyebrows, your forehead and your crow's feet.
